This vintage gum bichromate on Japanese tissue print is signed in ink sheet recto with the "Estate of William E. Dassonville" stamp mount verso. This exhibition print has an elaborate original presentation, with the tissue pasted taught to a windowed mount, with a paper backing behind. Two thin overmats hinged along top edge.
This exact print was illustrated in the definitive book on Dassonville, published in 1999 (Pl. 9, Pg. 42). While the image is titled "Carmel Point", the beach in the foreground is what is now known as "Monastery Beach" with Point Lobos in the background.
