This original silver gelatin contact print is soft and luminous—the best example of this image the Gallery has seen, despite the many later prints by Brett Weston that were made for the Fiftieth Anniversary Portfolio in 1951. This trimmed, unmounted print was likely made for exhibition, as Weston preferred to send unmounted prints in the mail. Titled, dated, and signed in pencil print verso in Edward’s hand, printed c. 1945.
