This incredibly rare print is the only known example of this image. From the prestigious Pilara Family Foundation. Exhibited at Pier 24 Photography in San Francisco: "Collected" from May 2016 – January 2017.
This image features the Bay Bridge in 1937, the year following its construction and the same year that the Golden Gate Bridge was completed. This image resembles Alfred Stieglitz's iconic photograph "The Shelton, New York, Looking Northeast, 1927", a photograph that Adams may have seen while exhibiting at Stieglitz's gallery "An American Place" in 1936, the year prior to the present photograph.
