This vintage silver gelatin enlargement was originally purchased in the early 1960s by one of Minor White's students at RIT, and is one of two known prints of this image. The print has remained in the same collection for the intervening 60 years, in its excellent original condition. This important image from White's "Steely Barb" sequence is titled after a quote by Charles Baudelaire "there is no more steely barb than that of the infinite". Signed in pencil mount recto (lower right), dated 1961 (lower left). Signed, titled, and dated "Sun & Fog, 1962" and priced "$35" in pencil mount verso. Likely printed in 1962.
