Early in Edward's career, this image of a Monterey Cypress along the south shore of Point Lobos proved to be very popular; Edward himself chose it as Plate 1 in his first major publication “The Art of Edward Weston”, as well as the sole reproduction in a pamphlet he put out in 1934. This vintage silver gelatin print is signed, dated, and editioned 5/50 in pencil mount recto, with a full title and negative number (54T) mount verso.
